The Blacktown Mount Druitt Hospital (BMDH) Expansion Project is delivering state-of-the-art new facilities for Blacktown Hospital and Mount Druitt Hospital to meet the future healthcare needs of our growing community.

We’re also the fastest growing local government area in Australia.

We have more older people and more people living with complex and chronic conditions.

We need contemporary, sustainable and effective new facilities that will allow us to deliver healthcare in innovative ways.

The BMDH Expansion Project Stage 1 will provide increased capacity, a greater range of services and improved facilities for patients.

The Stage 1 project is funded by the NSW Government with additional funding from the Australian Government for sub-acute mental health and rehabilitation.

The Stage 1 project is currently under construction with a phased project completion by mid 2016.

A Stage 2 Planning Project was announced by the NSW Government in 2013 and is currently underway to determine if there are further areas for development or enhancement.

During construction and commissioning all works will be carefully coordinated with Hospital management to minimise any disruption to existing hospital services. We appreciate your patience during our expansion.
