Your hospital

The BMDH Expansion Project Stage 1 will provide increased capacity, a greater range of services and improved facilities for patients.

The Stage 1 project has a capital budget of $324 million ($296 million by NSW Government with a further $28 million by the Australian Government for the new Mental Health Unit at BMDH Blacktown).

The Stage 1 project is currently under construction with a phased project completion by mid 2016.

When completed, the BMDH Expansion Project Stage 1 will provide improved access to a broader range of services including comprehensive care centres for cancer, cardiology, respiratory and aged care to meet the growing patient needs of the community.

A Stage 2 Planning Project was announced by the NSW Government in 2013 and is currently underway to determine if there are further areas for development or enhancement.

During construction and commissioning all works will be carefully coordinated with Hospital management to minimise any disruption to existing hospital services. We appreciate your patience during our expansion.
