We need a thousand hand-crafted poppies to create a tribute to the anniversary of WWI at Blacktown Hospital and Mount Druitt Hospital this November.

The project is part of the 5000 Poppies initaitive, a worldwide community tribute of respect and remembrance to those who have served in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations, their families and their communities.

Our poppy project will create a poppy garden around the two ANZAC Memorials at Blacktown and Mount Druitt.

Poppies can be knitted or crocheted. Poppy patterns and tutorails are available on the 5000 Poppies website:

Or dowload a pattern here:

You can use any large poppy pattern and poppies should be mainly red. Centre colours, buttons or features are OK as long as your poppy is mainly red. We recommend 8ply red wool.
