Stage 2 of the Mount Druitt Hospital expansion is now complete, creating new facilities for MRI, dialysis , addiction medicine, pre-admission and recovering.
The new projects provide better access to services for the local community by providing more services closer to home and reducing the need to travel out of the area for treatment. They also provide contemporary working environments for staff and and more opportunities for training, education and research.
In Stage 1 at Mount Druitt Hospital, we expanded dental, emergency, and aged care and rehabilitation, improved the main entry and car parking areas, and upgraded power infrastructure and sterilising services to support our growing hospital.
Mount Druitt will continue to grow in Stage 2, providing a centre of excellence for elective surgery in addition to existing hospital services.
Stage 2 projects include:
Our new Community Dialysis Centre includes an Aboriginal Healing Garden to honour and celebrate our local Indigenous heritage with healing plants, artwork and sculpture for the enjoyment of all our Mount Druitt Hospital staff.
Blacktown Hospital is growing too
A new standalone, purpose-built community dialysis centre will will open at Mount Druitt Hospital in late 2017.
